Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The fight against inflation constitutes one of the priorities in terms of action for this year in the finance sector, said the responsible minister, Vera Daves, this Saturday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The minister was speaking at the opening of the XIII Consultative Council of the Ministry of Finance taking place in the city of Moc\u0327a\u0302medes (Namibe), under the motto \u201cExcellence rhymes with integrity\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said that the challenges arising, mainly, from the international context, from which Angola is called, reserve the fight against inflation and everything that comes as a result of this.<\/p>\n

He stressed that the council aims to analyze the objectivity, distance and technicality of its main work themes, having appealed to sector staff for greater responsibility and professional secrecy.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe quality of our work is crucial to the efficiency of general policy and we must be aware that, as public servants in the field of finance, our main mission is to be at the service of all sectors of governance, as our mission is to serve “, he said.<\/p>\n

For his part, the governor of Namibe, Archer Mangueira, considered the health of public finances to be an indispensable condition for the economy to grow in Angola and develop in all its dimensions.<\/p>\n

According to the governor, without public finances the State cannot fulfill one of its most noble functions, which is to redistribute income and guarantee a dignified life for all Angolans.<\/p>\n

\u201cOnly healthy public finances allow the State to alleviate debt needs and free up resources for public and private investment, becoming a true factor in development\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

For two days (Saturday and Sunday), participants will address, among others, topics related to public accounting, competition policies in Angola, macroeconomic programming instruments and the impact of public investment on economic growth.<\/p>\n

Directors, managers and staff from supervised bodies, provincial delegations of tax regions and the central structure of the sector take part in the event.<\/p>\n
