Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Three years later, the competitive carnival parade returns to the province of Bengo, after overcoming the impasses that made it difficult to hold.<\/b><\/p>\n

The divergence between the groups, the late delivery of support and the prize amounts constituted the main impasses in the non-occurrence of the competitive carnival in the last three editions.<\/p>\n

This year, the festival returns to the province with the introduction of some innovations such as the participation of entertainment blocks created by provincial directorates (public institutions) and the obligation for groups to present songs recorded on disc.<\/p>\n

A workshop was also created and a studio was made available that will help carnival groups make costumes and record their songs.<\/p>\n

As for the prizes, the first place in the adult class will receive one million and 300 thousand Kwanzas, the 2nd one million, the 3rd 800 thousand, while the 4th and 5th will receive 600 and 400 thousand Kz, respectively.<\/p>\n

Taking place in Largo da Ingamba, in the city of Caxito, the Shrovetide will feature the participation of ten adult groups, eight children’s groups and eight entertainment groups.<\/p>\n

The municipality of Dande, the most representative in relation to the others, will participate with nine children’s groups and an equal number of adults.<\/p>\n

Ambriz, Nambuangongo, Dembos, Bula Atumba and Pango Aluque\u0301m with one group each, will be present in this edition only in the adult class.<\/p>\n

For a decent presentation, according to the head of Cultural Action at the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism, Youth and Sports, Lui\u0301s Caquenda, each group received the amount of 100 thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

In the children’s class, the winner will receive 750 thousand kwanzas, the 2nd place 500,000 and the 3rd place 350 thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

In both categories, the competition will distinguish the best court, allegory, commander, flag and song.<\/p>\n
