Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>More than 235.8 million dollars were invested in Social Responsibility actions by the Diamond Subsector, from 2017 to the first half of 2023, said in Luanda, the head of the Information Technologies and Marketing Department of Fundac\u0327a\u0303o Brilhante, Sido\u0301nio Borges.<\/b><\/p>\n

When speaking at the workshop on social responsibility actions and projects in the mineral resources, oil and gas sector, he highlighted that, of the overall value, 112.8 million dollars (one dollar is worth kz 828,995) refers to completed projects and USD 123.04 million to ongoing projects.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible, the main financiers in the Mineral Resources sector were the companies Sociedade Mineira de Catoca, Sodiam, Endiama and Hiperma\u0301quinas, which contributed 75% of the Global value.<\/p>\n

He indicated that Health deserved a large investment from the sector, with a total of USD 17.3 million in the period 2017-2023.<\/p>\n

He stressed that investments were channeled towards the Prevention and Combat of Covid-19, purchasing biosafety material, tests, awareness campaigns, donations of medicines, hospital supplies and specialized vehicles (ambulances), support for the training of medical professionals, as well as maternity support Lucre\u0301cia Pai\u0301m, by ENDIAMA and SODIAM, among others.<\/p>\n

Sido\u0301nio Borges made it known that the education sector deserved special attention and investments were in the order of USD 65.3 million in the period 2017-2023.<\/p>\n

He added that the focus on Education, since 2017, arises from the fact that it is seen as one of the key areas for the country’s economic and social development.<\/p>\n

Among the actions, the construction of the ULAN-Dundo University Centers by Endiama-EP and Saurimo: by Sodiam, Scholarship Programs of Endiama, Catoca, Sodiam, as well as the Catoca Student Program, operationalized by FB which benefits more than 1500 children aged 6 to 18 in the east and the Catoca Acade\u0301mico Program, operated by FB which benefits more than 229 higher education students.<\/p>\n
