{"id":55334,"date":"2024-02-02T16:24:22","date_gmt":"2024-02-02T16:24:22","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/?p=55334"},"modified":"2024-02-02T16:08:50","modified_gmt":"2024-02-02T16:08:50","slug":"low-legal-culture-results-in-many-labor-conflicts-oaa","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/low-legal-culture-results-in-many-labor-conflicts-oaa","title":{"rendered":"Low legal culture results in &#8220;many&#8221; labor conflicts &#8211; OAA"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>The president of the Provincial Council of the Angolan Bar Association (OAA) in Hui\u0301la, Henriques Ernesto, considered Thursday, in Lubango as \u201clow\u201d, the level of legal culture of workers in the region, which results from &#8221; many&#8221; labor conflicts. <\/b><\/p>\n<p>Henriques Ernesto made this assessment at the opening of the Provincial Conference on the New General Labor Law 12\/24, focusing on the main changes introduced therein, which comes into force next March, replacing Law 7\/15, of June 15th.<\/p>\n<p>The event aims to address the new General Labor Law, recently enacted, from a comparative perspective of the various aspects it introduced.<\/p>\n<p>Lasting two days, the activity addresses issues related to the establishment of the employment relationship, the vacation regime, absences and licenses, employment income tax, changes and impact on the employment relationship, among other matters in force in the legal diploma..<\/p>\n<p>Henriques Ernesto highlighted that several lawyers assigned to the Order have represented the interests of several workers, within the scope of these labor disputes, based on agreements signed between workers and lawyers, which demonstrate this trend.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have those workers who, for reasons of economic need, cannot afford a lawyer, therefore, they turn to the Bar Association to be provided with legal assistance\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n<p>For the lawyer, in the event of conflicts, the worker can resort to the courts, initially with the sponsorship of the Public Prosecutor&#8217;s Office, but many do not do so, due to the weak legal culture.<\/p>\n<p>He highlighted that in the last half of 2023, the Order had a record of 15 workers who, for various reasons, requested legal sponsorship from the Angolan Bar Association and were granted assistance.<\/p>\n<p>In turn, the Inspector of the General Labor Inspectorate of Hui\u0301la, Celestino Amadeu, also corroborates the same opinion, admitting that the legal culture among citizens is \u201cvery\u201d reduced to what is intended, but the institution has worked on disseminating matters linked to Labor law.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWorkers are aware of the existence of the General Labor Inspectorate and must come to our services to see their intentions duly observed or resolved\u201d, he emphasized.<\/p>\n<p><strong>For More News And Analysis About <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\">Angola<\/a> Follow <a href=\"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/\">Africa-Press<\/a><\/strong><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola.
