Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Two hundred saleswomen received new benches Saturday, in Lubango, Hui\u0301la province, which were built in 12 months.<\/b><\/p>\n

The benches were delivered by the local administration, as part of the festivities marking the 63rd anniversary of the beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation (February 4th).<\/p>\n

This is the second phase of the project to build an expanded market from scratch in an area of \u200b\u200bthree thousand square meters in the \u201cA Luta Continua\u201d neighborhood, on the outskirts of this city, with financing from the program to combat poverty, estimated at 41 million and 500 thousand kwanzas..<\/p>\n

The first phase was completed in 2020 and delivered a year later. The third one should start within days and plans to build another hundred benches, for more than 470 vendors, according to the Lubango municipal administrator, Lisender Andre\u0301.<\/p>\n

Speaking to journalists on the sidelines of the inauguration of the respective market, the official stated that it will give greater dignity to traders who were previously street vendors.<\/p>\n

He added that given the geographical location and the current population in the neighborhood, a study will also be carried out to improve the communication route, with the aim of making this market a commercial area.<\/p>\n

The “A Luta Continua” neighborhood, with an extension of four square kilometers, has an estimated population of 40 thousand 101 inhabitants.<\/p>\n
