Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The construction of social infrastructures, in various regions of the province, with a view to improving the living conditions of the populations, has been the best way to dignify the efforts made by the heroes of February 4th.<\/b><\/p>\n

The recognition was expressed by the deputy governor for the Political and Social sector of the province of Cabinda, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira, when he spoke at the celebration of the 63rd anniversary of the beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation.<\/p>\n

During the commemoration of the anniversary, which this year takes place under the motto “February 4th, Preserve the Values \u200b\u200bof the Fatherland, Let us Honor Our Heroes”, Miguel dos Santos Oliveira said that in recent years several structural works have been built, as example, General Hospital, Chiazi National Stadium, Santana Andre\u0301 Pitra \u201cPetroff\u201d Centrality, Urbanizac\u0327a\u0303o 4 de Abril, drinking water supply systems, electricity, secondary and tertiary roads, among others.<\/p>\n

Another notable fact, according to the official, is the ongoing structural works, such as the Caio Deep Water Terminal and the Oil Refinery, which could confer dignity and boost the region’s development.<\/p>\n

The event was preceded by the raising of the flag and the laying of a wreath at the tomb of the first president of Angola, Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto.<\/p>\n

Angola celebrates Sunday, February 4th, 63 years since the beginning of the Armed Struggle for National Liberation, under the motto \u201cPreserving the values \u200b\u200bof the Fatherland, let us honor our heroes\u201d.<\/p>\n

The date remains engraved in the history of Angola as it marks the milestone of the armed struggle that culminated, 14 years later, with the proclamation of National Independence, on November 11, 1975, putting an end to the process of Portuguese occupation and colonization that began in the 15th century.<\/p>\n

It was in the early hours of February 4, 1961 that around 200 Angolan nationalists, armed with machetes and other sharp weapons, launched a series of attacks on several prisons to free political prisoners from the Portuguese colonial regime.<\/p>\n
