Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Consul General of Namibia in Ondjiva (Cunene), Kanaki Tjejamba, praised, this Monday, the qualities of President Hage Geingob, who allowed him to serve the country “with determination and a humanist spirit”, in favor of well-being of communities.<\/b><\/p>\n

The President of Namibia, Hage Geingob, died in the early hours of Sunday in Windhoek, a victim of illness, at the age of 82.<\/p>\n

The diplomat said that President Hage Geingob’s achievements are multidimensional, arising from the liberation struggle, constituting an icon for present and future generations.<\/p>\n

According to the official, Hage Geingob’s mandate was marked by the introduction of new governance policies, which gave great impetus to the industrial sector and boosted the country’s economy.<\/p>\n

\u201cDespite his position and age, the President was a person loved by his people, as he was a friendly and polite citizen, a hard worker and a tireless professional. He was a people person, jovial, who appreciated Namibian music and dances, which is why he will be greatly missed,\u201d he emphasized.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the diplomat considered the cooperative relations between Angola and Namibia to be excellent.<\/p>\n

Geingob was the third President of Namibia, a country that became independent in the 1990s, when it was no longer politically controlled by South Africa.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister of Namibia twice (1990-2002 and 2012-2015, Geingob came to power in March 2015 and was re-elected in 2019.<\/p>\n
