Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’ Abreu, considered on Wednesday that the port infrastructures, under construction in the province of Cabinda, will boost trade exchanges between Central African countries, starting in the first quarter of 2025.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Minister of Transport, Ricardo D’ Abreu, who congratulated, via zoom, the collective of employees of the Port Company of Cabinda, on the celebrations of 62 years of existence, highlighted the importance of the Deep Water Terminal of the Port of Cabinda, area franca, in addition to industrial, commercial and residential areas in the development of the district.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the government official made a positive assessment of northern cabotage services, which throughout 2023, handled more than 72 thousand passengers, registering more than double compared to the previous year.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn terms of cargo, 3,500 tons of cargo were moved, representing an increase of more than 2 percent compared to 2022,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n

For the minister, the Maritime Passenger Terminal allowed the departure and entry of passengers and goods by sea to Soyo and Luanda and created 110 local jobs, both direct and indirect.<\/p>\n

For the head of Transport, these numbers demonstrate, unequivocally, that northern cabotage has boosted connections between Cabinda, Soyo and Luanda, which we want to see developed, with greater efficiency and comfort for all passengers and safety in the transport of goods.<\/p>\n

Ricardo D’ Abreu also announced, for this year, the launch of the public tender for the concession, management and private exploitation of the Cabinda Passenger Maritime Terminal, called \u201cMiguel Maria Nzau Puna\u201d.<\/p>\n
