Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of the province of Cunene, Gerdina Dedaelwa, highlighted, this Wednesday, the rescue of the dignity of the African people, their self-determination and territorial sovereignty, as marks left by the President of Namibia, Hage G. Geingob.<\/b><\/p>\n

The President of Namibia died in the early hours of Sunday in Windhoek, a victim of illness, at the age of 82.<\/p>\n

In a note of condolence, this Wednesday, Gerdina Didalelwa highlights that the death of Hage Gaingob constitutes an irreparable loss and one of deep sadness for Southern Africa and, in particular, for the Republic of Namibia.<\/p>\n

The governor says that throughout his life the unsuccessful man dedicated himself to the cause of achieving independence for his country, having been one of the \u201ccornerstones\u201d of the construction and economic and social development of the Namibian nation.<\/p>\n

He considered the deceased as a man committed to actions for the well-being of communities<\/p>\n

“In this moment of uncontainable emotion, pain and mourning, in my name and that of the population of the province of Cunene, I bow before their memory, paying my heartfelt tribute and address to the bereaved family and the Namibian people, the deepest feeling of regret”, he concluded.<\/p>\n

Geingob was the third President of Namibia, a country that became independent in the 1990s, when it was no longer politically controlled by South Africa.<\/p>\n

Prime Minister of Namibia twice (1990-2002 and 2012-2015), Geingob came to power in March 2015 and was re-elected in 2019.<\/p>\n
