Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Eight firearms, which were in the illegal possession of alleged criminals, were recently recovered by Security Bodies in the province of Huambo, as part of the \u201cBaro\u0301metro\u201d operation.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released this Wednesday by the spokesperson for the local Interior Delegation, Martinho Kavita Satito, who said that they were four pistol-type firearms and an equal number of AKMs, which were used by criminals to commit the crime. of various crimes in the 11 municipalities of this region of the Central Plateau.<\/p>\n

The chief superintendent of the National Police said that the operation, which began on January 24, also allowed the recovery of three cars of different brands, 170 meters of burnt copper fiber optic cables, 83 fuel subsidy cards, two grenades of tear gas, 10 kilograms of marijuana-type drugs, a master key to open vehicles, three motorbikes, among other means.<\/p>\n

In total, he said, 1,391 activities were carried out, with emphasis on the execution of arrest warrants for alleged criminals, in locations in the province of Huambo, in addition to monitoring areas of illicit purchase\/sale of ferrous material, including copper, aluminum and spare parts.<\/p>\n

Martinho Kavita Satito said that operation \u201cBaro\u0301metro\u201d, aimed at containing the growing trend of violent crimes and road accidents, allowed the arrest of 71 national citizens.<\/p>\n

The person in charge appeals to citizens to continue to denounce all harmful actions, so that there is greater security and tranquility inside and outside the communities.<\/p>\n

The province of Huambo, with more than two million 700 thousand inhabitants, has six national roads, namely numbers 120, 250, 260, 350, 352 and 354, in addition to the Lobito Corridor, which promotes considerable mobility of vehicles, cargo and people, who supply the border markets of Benguela, Bie\u0301, Cuando Cubango, Cuanza Sul, Hui\u0301la and Malanje.<\/p>\n
