Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Engineer and economist Gaspar Fernandes, 36 years old, presented, on Thursday, in Luanda, his intention to run for president of the Social Renewal Party (PRS), for the elections scheduled for March this year.<\/b><\/p>\n

To this end, the youngest among the candidates will formalize his intention next week, and will have as competitors Sampaio Anto\u0301nio and Benedito Daniel, the current president and deputy of the National Assembly.<\/p>\n

When speaking to the press, Gaspar Fernandes said that his objective is to unite members around a common vision to strengthen the party’s structures and promote greater participation among members.<\/p>\n

According to the politician, during his more than 15 years of political activism he developed leadership skills, which is why he believes that his experience allows him to be a candidate for president of the Social Renewal Party.<\/p>\n

\u201cMy team is aware of the challenges we will face during this election process to win until the last day. We will fight and defend so that we are successful in what we are proposing to do\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Gaspar Fernandes is currently the national youth secretary and says he is a product of the work done by his elders, to whom he shows his complete gratitude in knowing that the party is investing in youth.<\/p>\n

He added that he had the privilege of working in different areas of the party, which provided him with a comprehensive and in-depth view of the challenges and opportunities of the PRS.<\/p>\n

“I take this opportunity to thank you in advance for your support and confidence in my candidacy, and I am fully certain of the responsibilities I assume in running for president of the PRS”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

He added that he will dedicate his time to achieving the party’s objectives, with the motto “Dynalize, innovate and grow\u201d.<\/p>\n

Gaspar Fernandes was born in Cazenga, in Luanda, and has a degree in Petroleum Engineering, Research and Production, from the Jean Piaget University of Angola, and in Management, from the Technical University of Angola (UTANGA).<\/p>\n

He has a master’s degree in Economics from the Lusi\u0301adas University of Angola, and has been in active politics since 2007, having worked at the municipal secretariat of Viana. In 2010 he was deputy secretary of the Department of Information.<\/p>\n

He was also a member of the Provincial Committee of the Social Renewal Party (PRS) in Luanda, a political group founded on November 18, 1990 and which defines itself as center-left, with a federalist and progressive ideology.<\/p>\n
