Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan ambassador to South Africa, Rui Xavier, met this Saturday, in Cape Town, with the leaders of the Angolan community residing in that Southern African country, numbering over 14 thousand people.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the meeting, according to a press release, the diplomat praised the exemplary behavior of Angolan citizens towards the South African authorities and called for the exercise of citizenship and patriotism.<\/p>\n

Rui Xavier encouraged Angolans and their descendants to dedicate themselves to study, work and the preservation of their achievements, promising to continue working together to address the main concerns.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the consul general of Angola in Cape Town, Elsa Vicente, defended the maintenance of solidarity and support for the continuation of the current action program.<\/p>\n

Consulate General of Angola in this district has carried out several activities in favor of the community, with emphasis on the documentary campaign for birth registration, issuing Identity Cards and ordinary passports.<\/p>\n

As part of supporting the community, home and hospital visits and visits to citizens in prison were carried out, as well as support for the voluntary return to Angola of some compatriots.<\/p>\n

The community leaders demonstrated perfect alignment with the main activities of the Consulate and requested intervention from the Embassy to the South African authorities to speed up the regularization of the migratory situation of Angolan citizens.<\/p>\n
