Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Assistant judge Jerson Emiliano was received, on Tuesday night, in a festive atmosphere, at the 4 de Fevereiro International Airport, in Luanda, in a simple action witnessed by national sports figures, practitioners and federative members.<\/b><\/p>\n

At the event, in which the supervisory ministry was represented by the National Director of Sports, Nicolau Daniel, the professional was moved by the reception (he cried) and thanked the Angolans for their support.<\/p>\n

Emiliano, who was part of the trio that judged, on Sunday, the final game in which hosts Co\u0302te d`Ivoire beat Nigeria, 2-1, in Abidjan, told the press that he had contributed, once again, to the history of the modality in Africa.<\/p>\n

He added that he hopes that in the future more international-class referees and judges will appear so that Angola’s name is always well referenced at CAF and FIFA level.<\/p>\n

The 40-year-old assistant, born in the province of Hui\u0301la, said that, generally, when talking about arbitration in the world the first aspect is critical, but that during the CAN in Co\u0302te d`Ivoire this trend was reversed.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe world stopped to see Africa. 54 African countries and several from other continents contributed to the African Championship being seen by more than two billion football lovers\u201d, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Jerson Emiliano participated for the seventh time in the final phase of CAF’s biggest competition, and was named on three occasions to join the team for the final.<\/p>\n

At the event, Angolan arbitration was also represented by assistant referee Ivanildo Lopes, and by the director of the Council of Angolan Arbitrators, Ina\u0301cio Ca\u0302ndido, as commissioner.<\/p>\n

Angola was also represented at the best African football summit by Miller Gomes, who once again joined the competition’s technical team, in addition to Doctor Joa\u0303o Mulima, as an Anti-Doping Control Member.<\/p>\n

Remember, the National Team (Palancas Negras) reached the quarter-finals of the competition, a stage in which they were eliminated by Nigeria, with a 0-1 defeat.<\/p>\n

Upon returning to the country, the delegation was also honored by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the Government of the province of Luanda.<\/p>\n
