Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>At least 48 families from the municipality of Ecunha, Huambo province, are in the open, as a result of the destruction, on Tuesday night, of their homes, caused by rain accompanied by gusts of wind.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to the provisional report of the local administration’s multisectoral commission made public this Wednesday, there are 48 houses of precarious construction and made from adobe (bricks made with raw earth, straw and water, which are later molded and dried in the sun), the walls are a temple of the Pentecostal Church and a primary school.<\/p>\n

The rains caused injuries to two citizens, victims of the wreckage of their houses, in addition to damage to family farmers, with the devastation of several agricultural fields.<\/p>\n

The commission’s report, coordinated by the deputy administrator of Ecunha, Adelino Salvador Tchitau, indicates the neighborhoods 11 de Novembro, Calei Cuxila, Calei Ma\u0301rio and ombala Chitue, as being the most targeted.<\/p>\n

At this time, we read, the local authorities are working to survey the damage caused by rain accompanied by gusts of wind, in order to create conditions to support the injured families.<\/p>\n

Considered to be a rural municipality (class C), Ecunha, one of the 11 that make up the province of Huambo, has an estimated population of 111 thousand 825 inhabitants, distributed across the municipalities of Quipeio and Sede, with homes, mostly built of artisanal material (bricks made with raw earth, straw and water, which are later shaped and dried in the sun).<\/p>\n
