Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The provincial vice-governor of Benguela, Li\u0301dia Amaro, asked public managers this Friday for greater responsibility in the execution of public resources in the current financial year (2024), given the current situation in the country.<\/b><\/p>\n

Li\u0301dia Amaro was speaking during a seminar on the Rules for Executing the General State Budget (OGE) 2024, which aimed to train managers of budgetary units of the State’s Local Administration and other public entities.<\/p>\n

According to the person responsible, the socio-economic reality in force in the country also requires public managers to be more restrained and improve the quality of expenditure, as well as efficiency in collecting revenue to improve the business environment.<\/p>\n

In this way, Li\u0301dia Amaro reiterated the social sector as a priority for the Government, namely health, education and justice, which will make it possible to stimulate employment, entrepreneurship and technical-professional training.<\/p>\n

For the vice-governor, public managers must pay special attention to projects initiated and not completed within the expenditure limits available to pursue new actions.<\/p>\n

It is in this context that he congratulated the Provincial Finance Delegation for the initiative, because, as he mentioned, it is a strategic instrument that implements the country’s economic and social policy.<\/p>\n

Despite the uncertainties in the world economy, Li\u0301dia Amaro highlights that the 2024 OGE predicts a growth rate in the Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of 2.8%, resulting from the positive growth of the non-oil sector.<\/p>\n

Still on the execution of the OGE, he highlighted the need for Budgetary Units and Dependent Bodies to comply with all stages of the process, in accordance with current legislation, aligned with the National Development Plan 2023 \u2013 2027 and the Long-Term Development Strategy 2050.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, he drew attention to the need to strengthen the coherence and effectiveness of public policies, boosting sustainable socioeconomic development and seeking a prosperous future for all Angolans.<\/p>\n

Hence, he calls for the involvement and commitment of all participants in this training activity, since, in his view, good budget execution is not just dependent on the Ministry of Finance.<\/p>\n

The vice-governor sees the training of all managers and other participants in the process as fundamental, to avoid failures that could compromise the realization of expenses and collection of revenue.<\/p>\n

Lasting one day, the seminar also included the participation of municipal administrators and directors of the different Provincial Offices, who addressed topics such as \u201cExecution rules for the OGE 2022\u201d, \u201cExecution of Public Investment Projects (PIP)\u201d and \u201cForms collection and inventory of assets\u201d.<\/p>\n
