Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Twenty-five cubic meters of wood are produced daily by the Anto\u0301nio Pereira Neves Group (APN) industrial unit in Cabinda, the company’s manager said Friday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of a visit by the governor of Cabinda, Mara Quiosa, to its facilities, Joa\u0303o Neves revealed that production mainly serves to support the province’s real estate and civil construction sector.<\/p>\n

He added that the wood, beams, slats, plywood and other derivatives produced at the unit are supplied to the markets in Cabinda, Luanda and also exported to some European and Asian countries.<\/p>\n

According to the manager, retailers in the Cabassango, Gika and Povo Grande markets in Cabinda buy wood at a price below 240 thousand kwanzas per cubic meter, as a result of the requirements of the Forestry Development Institute (IDF).<\/p>\n

As an example, he said that in the Luanda market, a cubic meter of wood is sold at a price of 240 thousand kwanzas.<\/p>\n

He expressed his desire to continue working with the government of Cabinda in providing desks to educational institutions.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn 2019 and 2020 we were successful, supplying around eight thousand desks to various school institutions in the region, hence the desire to continue working with the government in this regard\u201d, he clarified.<\/p>\n

He said that the company has a workforce of more than 80 workers, from operators, drivers, carpenters, electrical mechanics, security guards among others.<\/p>\n

In turn, the governor of the province of Cabinda said that the government is open to helping local companies in all areas that contribute to the development of the province.<\/p>\n
