Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Mineral Resources, Oil and Gas, Diamantino Azevedo, appealed this Tuesday, in Luanda, the need for the National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG) to continue implementing a more dynamic block bidding strategy, to stabilize crude oil production in Angola.<\/b><\/p>\n

When speaking at the inauguration ceremony of the members of the Board of Directors of the National Petroleum, Gas and Biofuels Agency (ANPG), the government official referred to the need to increase the number of oil blocks in a short space of time, with a view to having more production of oil in the country.<\/p>\n

For this challenge, he said that the sector will be more active, with emphasis on existing initiatives on local content, so that it is more integrated into reality, keeping a close eye on current legislation.<\/p>\n

For his part, the president of the Board of Directors of the National Oil, Gas and Biofuels Agency, Paulino Jero\u0301nimo, who was reappointed to the position, recalled that there is a General Strategy for the Attribution of Petroleum Concessions, approved by Presidential Decree No. 52\/ 19, which establishes the rules and frequency of bidding for blocks in the country.<\/p>\n

Within the scope of this Hydrocarbon Exploration Strategy, the manager identified the basins in the provinces of Cunene, Moxico, Cuando Cubango, Lunda Norte, Lunda Sul, Ui\u0301ge, Malanje and Cuanza Norte as the priorities for boosting oil production.<\/p>\n

Paulino Jero\u0301nimo ensured the existence of samples with the potential of these basins, with the main mission being to divide the basins into blocks to be tendered.<\/p>\n

In addition to the PCA, ANPG administrators Artur Manuel Custo\u0301dio, Nicola Lemos, Ana Miala and Alcides Andrade also took office.<\/p>\n
