Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, confirmed this Tuesday, in Prague, that Angola and the Czech Republic have bilateral cooperation based on 16 legal instruments, which has been going on since 1993 and is moving towards a new was, with President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o’s two-day visit to this country.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, is on a 48-hour official visit from (Wednesday), at the invitation of his Czech counterpart, Petra Pavel.<\/p>\n

The program foresees, among other topics, talks between the presidential delegations of the two countries, as well as visits to the Senate and the Chamber of Deputies of the Czech Republic, and a meeting with the Czech Prime Minister, Petr Fiala, in addition to being honored with a official dinner by President Petra Pavel.<\/p>\n

According to the Angolan diplomat, the two countries will sign the memorandum on political consultations, which will identify and define the new cooperation framework, with the focus being on the Agriculture, Health and Education sector.<\/p>\n

Angola and the Czech Republic have historical ties, but despite this, minister Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio recognizes that relations are not yet at the desired level, hence the reason for the President of the Republic’s visit, to reverse the current situation.<\/p>\n

“We formalized an agreement on diplomatic relations with the Czech Republic. After the fall of the Berlin Wall, there was a geopolitical reconfiguration in this region, which is the Czech Republic, and, being the Czech Republic, in 1993 we signed an agreement that formalized diplomatic relations. But, since 1993 until now, we must consider that cooperation with the Czech Republic has not reached the levels it should have\u201d, explained Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe want to relaunch this relationship with the Czech Republic, above all to give more substance to economic cooperation\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o leaves the city of Prague on Thursday, February 22nd.<\/p>\n
