Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The writer and journalist Jorge Macedo was honored, last Wednesday, in Luanda, by the Ci\u0301rculo de Estudos Litera\u0301rios e Lingui\u0301stico e Litteragris (CE3L), due to his artistic career.<\/b><\/p>\n

The tribute took place at the Maka a\u0300 Quarta-feira space, an initiative of the Union of Angolan Writers (UEA), which discussed the trajectory of Jorge Macedo.<\/p>\n

For the group, this writer is at the genesis of the construction of litteragris thought and its inclination towards literary studies.<\/p>\n

On the subject, writer and literary critic Agostinho Gonc\u0327alves said that Jorge Macedo is a patron of the movement, the result of his contribution to his many works, with emphasis on “O Tempo” and “Mulher”.<\/p>\n

The two works tell the story of a people seeking independence.<\/p>\n

Literary critic He\u0301lder Sinbad claims that \u201cmaster Macedo\u201d, as he is called by writers, contributed immensely to Angolan literature, through his critical and theoretical studies.<\/p>\n

Corroborating the idea, the writer and literary critic Mambanza Kamba, also a member of the movement, considers him as a philosopher, due to the wisdom that is reflected in his works.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the secretary of the UEA, David Kapelenguela, was pleased with the presentation of the Litteragris Movement, which he sees as a replacement for the previous generation.<\/p>\n

The debate, “From Poetry to Theoretical Thought of Jorge Macedo”, was moderated by the head of the Literature Area at CE3L, Edmira Cariango.<\/p>\n

The Litteragris Movement is a group founded on October 17, 2015, in the main hall of the Union of Angolan Writers, in Luanda.<\/p>\n

The concept was born from the need to expand the spaces for transmitting literary and linguistic knowledge.<\/p>\n

Jorge Mendes Macedo was born in 1941, in the province of Malanje, and died in September 2009, in the province of Luanda, at the age of 68.<\/p>\n

The journalist, who attended minor and major seminaries in Luanda, where he completed a Philosophy course, began his literary activity in 1957, with the publication of the poetry book \u201cE\u0301 Tempo\u201d.<\/p>\n

During his life, he published several books, including poems, novels, short stories and essays, and collaborated in publications such as Angola Norte, Revista Internacional de Poesia, Nova\u0301frica, Ngoma and Convivium.<\/p>\n

In addition to his literary activity, Jorge Macedo dedicated himself to musical research.<\/p>\n
