Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Minister of State for Economic Coordination, Jose\u0301 Massano, defended this Wednesday, in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, that world peace is essential for the development of any State and, consequently, the globe.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Angolan government official, who spoke at the opening session of the G-20 Foreign Ministers’ Meeting, said “there is no peace without development and there is no development without peace”.<\/p>\n

At the meeting, in which Angola participates as an observer, the minister considered that to achieve this objective, a joint effort is necessary to respond to interconnected challenges.<\/p>\n

Jose\u0301 Massano was peremptory in recognizing that the event takes place at a time of deep division, with humanity facing the most crucial and precarious crisis in recent generations, embodied in the proliferation and intensification of conflicts in Africa, Europe and the Middle East.<\/p>\n

He explained that the increasingly dangerous situation is causing geopolitical divisions and contributing to the emergence of new conflicts, thus making it more difficult to resolve old conflicts.<\/p>\n

“The International Community must spare no effort. It must use the wide range of instruments to prevent, mitigate, manage and resolve conflicts, while protecting the people affected”, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

The meeting, which ends this Thursday, was opened by the head of Brazilian diplomacy, Mauro Vieira, who dedicated special attention to the fight against hunger and malnutrition, sustainable development, the energy transition and global governance.<\/p>\n

For the diplomat, the G20, chaired by Brazil until November this year, plays a fundamental role in reducing international tensions, having stressed that it is not his country’s intention to live in a fractured world.<\/p>\n

Guests from the G20 are Angola, Egypt, Spain, United Arab Emirates, Nigeria, Norway and Singapore.<\/p>\n
