Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The province of Lunda-Sul has identified 54 small and large ravines, with 30 percent of the containment work already done, corresponding to 16 ravines intervened.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was released to the press on Friday by the Minister of Public Works, Housing and Urbanism, Carlos Santos, highlighting that the intervened ravines made it possible to restore people’s physical safety, as well as the recovery of areas that today can be used for agriculture, mining development and housing construction.<\/p>\n

He said that some ravines are still a concern, hence the need to mobilize resources to serve municipalities such as Cacolo and Dala.<\/p>\n

Housing<\/p>\n

In the field of housing, the minister made it known that in this chapter the Government is increasingly focusing on directed self-construction, hence the housing deficit will only be reduced if it is aligned with the public investments already made and the needs of citizens and private companies.<\/p>\n

He said that the directed self-construction program in Lunda-Sul is progressing normally and that, within a few days, some spaces will be allocated.<\/p>\n

“It’s not just about building centralities, but the great success of this program is in self-construction. The country as a whole still has a very large deficit, in the order of 2.2 million homes”, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

During his 12-hour stay, minister Carlos Santos, accompanied by the vice-governor for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Cla\u0301udio Pemessa, visited the works on the EN 240, Muconda\/Biula and Cazage section, and the ravine of the municipal headquarters of Muconda.<\/p>\n
