Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Minister of Foreign Affairs, Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, considered this Saturday, in Windhoek, the death of Hage Geingob a loss of a great fighter for freedom, pan-Africanism and development.<\/b><\/p>\n

The Head of Angolan diplomacy was part of the delegation headed by the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, at the state funeral of President Hage Geingob, who died on 4 February, a victim of cancer.<\/p>\n

For Te\u0301te Anto\u0301nio, the Angolan statesman brought the feeling of solidarity and fraternity of Angolans and SADC for this loss of Namibia, Africa and the world.<\/p>\n

The official highlighted that Namibia is an active member of the region (SADC) whose acting President is the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

For his part, Angolan deputy Pedro Sebastia\u0303o, member of the SADC Parliamentary Forum, highlighted that Hage Geingob was a great \u201cpillar\u201d in the efforts to transform the body into a SADC Parliament.<\/p>\n

In his view, between Angola and Namibia \u201cvery solid bridges were created\u201d in several areas, along with deep bonds of friendship, meaning that the feeling of sadness that surrounds the Namibian people infects the Angolan people.<\/p>\n

The parliamentarian recalled that, \u201cin the recent past, Namibians were in force in our country to carry out the national liberation struggle that led them to independence\u201d.<\/p>\n

For his part, the honorary consul of Namibia in Angola, Leonel da Rocha Pinto, said it was necessary to pay attention to the recognition not only of Namibians but also of SADC and at an international level, regarding the achievements and legacy of President Geingob.<\/p>\n

He considered the late statesman a man of the people, who worked with the people and who didn’t have much protocol and always made clear the importance of giving value to those who vote.<\/p>\n

Sunday is reserved for the funeral of Hage Geingob, at Heroes’ Acre, between 10am and 12pm, with the gates opening to the public at 6am.<\/p>\n
