Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The development of Angolan sport requires the adoption of scientific work methods and adequate training for all those involved, said, in Luanda, the first medical specialist in the sector in the country, Paulo Augusto Malheiro Mu\u0301rias. <\/b><\/p>\n

In an interview, as part of the scientific conferences on sports medicine, held this month in Luanda, the 71-year-old doctor stated that it was necessary to make Angolan sport more scientific, for a better interpretation of the inherent phenomena.<\/p>\n

He mentioned that, in addition to basic, secondary and higher education for teachers and coaches, it is crucial that educational institutions carry out other short courses, to provide agents with adequate knowledge.<\/p>\n

The veteran, honored at the event, organized by the National Center for Sports Medicine, explained that knowledge and mastery of the principles of human motricity allows professionals in the field to carry out fruitful work, aiming for positive results in different competitions.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe time has come to make Angolan sport more scientific, so that everyone involved can better train and achieve more positive results\u201d, he reiterated.<\/p>\n

Paulo Mu\u0301rias defends the expansion of the base of practitioners to obtain quality in all provinces of the country, without forgetting the improvement of infrastructures, which are fundamental supports.<\/p>\n

Furthermore, for the first director of the Angola Sports Medicine Center, the creation of human movement establishments in other regions appears to be extremely important in the aim of developing national sport.<\/p>\n

He said that it is equally important to equip clubs and other institutions with sports medicine equipment and materials, for the prevention and treatment of athletes’ health and injuries.<\/p>\n

The press interlocutor called for better organization and administrative management, in the sense that the effort and investments are in favor of training practitioners, who in the future will be able to strengthen themselves to high competition, with national teams and selections in zonal, continental and world competitions, in various modalities.<\/p>\n

Paulo Mu\u0301rias was a basketball player, having been captain of the first National Team, which won the first medal (3rd place) for Angola, in the African Championship held in Kenya.<\/p>\n

He began his business journey in 1990, with the project for the first private clinic in the country, Medgroup.<\/p>\n

The specialist doctor was the founder of the first Physiotherapy gym in the country, Fisiomed. The current Sports Medicine Center is in the Cidadela Complex. The first was located in the lower area of \u200b\u200bthe city of Luanda.<\/p>\n
