Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Evangelical Synodal Church of Angola (IESA) has, since 2023, been working on translating the Bible into the language of the SAN group, as part of its social responsibility, so that it can interpret the holy book in its own language.<\/b><\/p>\n

The SAN are the first people to inhabit the northern region of Africa, of which Angola is part, before the arrival of the \u201cgreat\u201d migration of the Bantu. Today, they are located in residual groups in Hui\u0301la, Cunene and Cuando Cubango.<\/p>\n

The information was given in Lubango, Monday, by the President of IESA, Dinis Eurico, highlighting that the project is being developed in partnership with the Evangelical Mission of South Africa, which is also the project’s financier, whose work takes place in the municipality of Matala.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that IESA is committed to its role of integral evangelization that reaches all peoples and all languages, is committed to translating the Bible into the SAN language and the project is proceeding normally.<\/p>\n

According to the president of IESA, so far translations of the New Testament stories have been made and that of the book of Genesis, in the Old Testament, takes place.<\/p>\n

He revealed that the translation involves 12 people, including members of the SAN community, who are themselves translating and are only being assisted by IT technicians and translators.<\/p>\n

He highlighted that despite the SAN being a \u201cshy\u201d people, they have received the message of evangelization very well and some of them are already workers and catechists in the communities where they live.<\/p>\n

During this same period, according to the source, the translation of the Bible into the local languages \u200b\u200bof the region’s natives, namely Oluwanha and Olutchilengue, two of the 11 variants of Nyaneka, is also taking place in the municipality of Quilengues, Hui\u0301la province, in partnership with the same South African Evangelical Mission, which should end in three years.<\/p>\n

In November 2023, the Angolan Biblical Society launched in the municipality of Chibia, Hui\u0301la province, for the first time, the Bible translated into the Nyaneka Mui\u0301la language, one of the 11 variants of Nyaneka, which took 10 years to prepare.<\/p>\n

A work that included the participation of three translators, six reviewers, four consultants from different religious denominations and the communities where the tests of the final product were carried out and initially had a circulation of four thousand 999 copies, printed in Brazil.<\/p>\n
