Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The coach of the 1.o de Agosto women’s senior basketball team, Paulo Macedo, stated (Friday), in Luanda, that his objective is to win titles with a \u201cmilitary\u201d training.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, at the end of the match in which his team beat Interclube, 62-53, in the final played at the Cidadela Desportiva pavilion, the best of a match, he acknowledged, however, the work still to be done.<\/p>\n

He said that the players still make several defensive and offensive errors, situations that will be corrected with work.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt’s a team with many talented young women who will make a lot of noise this sporting season\u201d, reiterated the coach who recently replaced Waltar Costa.<\/p>\n

According to Paulo Macedo, who won his first Angola Cup, upon his return to command the team, he valued the performance of the opponent who, in his opinion, could well win the competition.<\/p>\n

In turn, Interclube coach, Elisa Pires, pointed to her team’s lack of effectiveness as the reason for the defeat and the consequent loss of the trophy won in the last edition.<\/p>\n

The coach, who took command of the national \u201cpolice\u201d team in 2022, won the Angola Cup and the National Championship in 2023.<\/p>\n

He said that the objective now is to revalidate the national title.<\/p>\n

He recognized that 1.o de Agosto entered the game with a different philosophy, as he has a new coach.<\/p>\n

With this achievement, the RI-20 team now has 16 trophies in the competition, compared to nine from their opponents.<\/p>\n
