Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Special Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and head of the United Nations Regional Office for Central Africa, Fran\u00e7ois Fall, arrived in Luanda on Wednesday afternoon to thank the Angolan people and Government, in particular President Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o for his support as the UN’s top official in Central Africa.<\/b><\/p>\n

The diplomat provided this information at the courtesy meeting he held today with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, T\u00e9te Ant\u00f3nio, according to a press release sent to Jornal de Angola.<\/p>\n

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary-General came to Angola not only to thank him for the support he received from Angola, but also to say goodbye to the Angolan authorities in the context of the end of his mission as the United Nations high official for Central Africa.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of the meeting, Fran\u00e7ois Fall acknowledged Angola’s role in resolving peace and security issues in the region, especially in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and the Central African Republic (CAR).<\/p>\n

The high official of the United Nations reiterated that Angola is an influential country and is aware of the peace and security situation in Central Africa, so the UN counts on its commitment to the political stability of that region.<\/p>\n

Fran\u00e7ois Fall is a Guinean diplomat and politician, with a master’s degree in International Law from the University of Conakry, in Guinea, having served his country as Prime Minister, Secretary General of the Presidency and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs from October 2012 to January 2012. 2016.<\/p>\n

The Special Representative of the UN Secretary General and Head of the UN Regional Office for Central Africa, returns to his country on Thursday, before being received by the Head of State, Jo\u00e3o Louren\u00e7o.<\/p>\n
