Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Ukrainian elite athletes affected by the war with Russia will be able to benefit from a fund created by World Athletics in conjunction with the International Athletics Foundation (IAF) and the Diamond League.<\/b><\/p>\n

“The purpose of the fund is to ensure that elite Ukrainian athletes and key contributors can continue to train, qualify and participate in major international events, after the invasion of their country by Russia, which has since been banned from all competitions.<\/p>\n

The fund, which accepts donations and starts with around 175,000 euros, should support, by the end of 2023, around 100 athletes, some of whom already benefit from financial and logistical support from various sports federations.<\/p>\n
