Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic, Bornito de Sousa, highlighted, this Friday (8), in Luanda the importance of training youth at all levels, justifying that \u201cit is through studies that young people can embark on employment and entrepreneurial initiatives and, in this way, have access to better living conditions, well-being, social and cultural conditions, food security and also the participation of citizens, as an example, participation in elections and voluntary actions\u201d.<\/b><\/p>\n

In this context, the Vice-President considered, “some tasks are important to be seen as a priority for youth. First of all, one of them, perhaps the main one, is the education and training of young people, which then allows them to access a set of other elements for their life and the development of the country.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Angolan executive, however, has developed programs to address the situations of youth, through the Ministry of Youth and Sports, provincial governments, youth and student associations, he considered.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of his visit to the Angolan Youth Institute (IAJ), operating at the Sports Gallery, Rangel Urban District, municipality of Luanda, Bornito de Sousa highlighted the 20th anniversary of peace and national reconciliation and the Youth Day Angolan, to be marked on 14 April, as the main reasons for his visit to those facilities, located within the Cidadela Sports Complex.<\/p>\n

During the visit as part of the commemorations of the 14th of April, a date instituted in memory of the hero and nationalist Jos\u00e9 Mendes de Carvalho “Hoji-ya-Henda”, who died at the age of 26, in 1968, in the village of Caripande, during an assault on a Portuguese colonial troops, reiterated the need for Angolan youth to invest more and more in training and education. According to Bornito de Sousa, good training can provide better conditions and preparation for the country’s challenges, as young people will be more apt for the high-income jobs and also to contribute to the promotion of employability and the supply of jobs.<\/p>\n

To accompany the visit, the Minister of Youth and Sports offered a copy of the book “Sublime Moment of Angolan Sport” to the Vice-President of the Republic. The work portrays the trajectory of Angolan sport from 1975 to 2020. Ana Paula do Sacramento Neto informed that Entrepreneurship and the inclusion of young people in working life is what matters most at the moment, based on the guidelines and the work done, in partnership with the Ministry of Public Administration, Labor and Social Security, to ensure that young people can support themselves and who also manages, through the enterprise, to employ others.<\/p>\n

The IAJ is responsible for safeguarding the aspirations of youth in multidimensionality, contributing to greater participation in the country’s development process, establishing mechanisms that facilitate protagonism and effective integration at all levels of life in society.<\/p>\n
