Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The head of the Department of Culture, Historical Heritage and Religious Affairs of Cuanza-Norte, Genilson Costa, stated that the province has all the conditions to have a provincial museum that represents the material and immaterial heritage of these people.<\/b><\/p>\n

Regarding the International Day of Monuments and Sites, the person responsible revealed that studies carried out at the National Anthropology Laboratory indicate that Cuanza-Norte has a vast cultural collection, especially in the Cuanza corridor.<\/p>\n

The head of the department assigned to the Provincial Office of Culture, Tourism and Youth and Sports stated that there is a need for the province to have a museum, to publicize the material discovered following archeology work carried out in the region.<\/p>\n

He said that there are also many artefacts and pieces linked to local culture in the Traditional Palace of the municipality of Ngonguembo, which require conservation.<\/p>\n

Regarding the anniversary, he said that it serves to reflect on the tourism potential of the province, which has more than two hundred historical, archaeological and landscape sites inventoried and classified in all municipalities.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the head of Culture requested intervention from the authorities to preserve and clean tourist sites.<\/p>\n

He said that the institution is often surprised by citizens who intend to do tourism in the province, indicating that, in the month of March, it had an influx of more than one hundred national and foreign tourists.<\/p>\n

He said that many tourists arrive in the province with a well-defined itinerary, from the Ministry of Culture.<\/p>\n

For this reason, he defended the creation of conditions for a permanent process of cleaning, beautification and preservation of these places.<\/p>\n

The International Day of Monuments and Sites was established on April 18, 1982 by the International Council on Monuments and Sites and approved by UNESCO the following year.<\/p>\n
