Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Thirty-six renowned artists, both national and foreign, will share the stage at the 13th third edition of the 2024 international jazz festival, taking place from April 30th to May 1st, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

The information was provided Friday, by the event’s spokesperson, Neto Ju\u0301nior, during the 2nd meeting on the agenda of the International Jazz Day Festival and the Luanda Biennial.<\/p>\n

The 36 artists come, in addition to Angola, from various countries such as the United States of America, France, Israel, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Gambia, Russia, Mozambique and Turkey.<\/p>\n

From Angola, he said, the band Sanguito Sax is scheduled to perform, with a focus on the saxophonist Sanguito, as well as the artists Anto\u0301nio Andrade, A\u0301lvaro Yeca, Alberto Mona, Sozinho Lopes, Frederico Binda, Saloma\u0303o Edva\u0302nia da Costa, Pedro Masisa, Kindala and Sacananu Patri\u0301cio.<\/p>\n

From the United States of America, the presence of the Elenor Dubinsky and Mississippi Blue Quartet has been confirmed, with emphasis on Perry Bill and Shy Perry.<\/p>\n

Portugal will bring eight artists, including Lu\u0301cio Vieira, MaryanYanchyk and Cla\u0301udio Gomes, while Brazil will have three, with emphasis on Emile Silva Pereira and Priscilla Balby, as well as artists from France, Italy and Israel, with emphasis on Juliata Cohen, Walter Passerini and Ilya Kushner, respectively.<\/p>\n

According to the spokesperson, this is an initiative that brings together musicians from diverse geographic and cultural backgrounds, for a fusion of Afro-Brazilian, Middle Eastern, Balkan and Arab sounds to express the richness of music that transcends borders, connecting citizens around the world.<\/p>\n

The International Jazz Day Festival is organized by the ResiliArt Angola Project and is the result of a partnership between UNESCO, American Schools of Angola (ASA) and the Government of Angola, through the Luanda Biennial \u2013 Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence.<\/p>\n

As part of the Luanda Biennale, the 13th edition of this festival aims to celebrate the festivities of the musical style, which takes place worldwide on the 30th of April, and promote the culture of peace.<\/p>\n

The event also aims to inspire the current and future generations through messages of peace, hope and social progress, to be transmitted by artists.<\/p>\n
