Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Experts from Angola and Mozambique began this Sunday, in Maputo, the work of the X Session of the Bilateral Mixed Commission, within the framework of deepening cooperation relations between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release, the meeting of experts aims to evaluate ongoing projects between the two countries, review the agreements in force, as well as the constraints for their materialization and envisage new areas of cooperation.<\/p>\n

Issues of a political-diplomatic nature, defense, interior, territorial administration, economy and finance, transport and communications are under analysis.<\/p>\n

Other issues being addressed are in the sectors of industry, commerce, energy, mineral resources, oil, public works, agriculture, fisheries, sea, environment, among others.<\/p>\n

The Angolan delegation is led by the director for Africa, Middle East and Regional Organizations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jorge Cardoso, and includes senior staff from various ministerial departments.<\/p>\n

Bilateral relations between Angola and Mozambique are based on historical ties of friendship, fraternity and solidarity.<\/p>\n

The two States signed, on September 5, 1978, the General Agreement on Economic, Scientific-Technical and Cultural Cooperation, and the Bilateral Cooperation Commission was created on the same date.<\/p>\n

Within the framework of bilateral cooperation, several agreements and protocols have been signed, with emphasis on the agreement on visa exemptions for diplomatic, service and ordinary passports.<\/p>\n

The areas of cooperation extend to mutual legal assistance in criminal matters, youth, social communication and foreign relations.<\/p>\n
