Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The price of tomatoes, in the Martal store chain, of cornmeal, in Candando supermarkets, and chicken thighs, in the Alimenta Angola chain, showed remarkable reductions of 37.32 percent, 32.03% and 26.64% , respectively, in the transition from the fifth week of March to the first week of April.<\/b><\/p>\n

The downward trend in the price of chicken thighs was also seen at the Candando chain (21.44 percent less), as well as palm oil at Angomart, which fell by 18.99%, and beans at Fresmart stores. , which dropped 12.57%.<\/p>\n

In general terms, the price of basic food products, in the period in question, registered a reduction in commercial establishments and also in informal markets in Luanda. Fresmart’s consolidated product basket continues to be the most competitive offering.<\/p>\n

In all commercial establishments, the price variation of basic food basket products from the fifth week of March to the first week of April registered a deceleration of 0.52 percent. The products that contributed to this price reduction were tomatoes, with 4.72 percent, chicken thighs, with 4.63%, and palm oil, with 2.80%.<\/p>\n

On the other hand, the biggest price changes occurred in products such as wheat flour (1.45 percent), soy oil (1.27%) and rice (0.71%). In the period under analysis, the biggest price changes were registered in the supermarkets Deskont\u00e3o, with 1.01 percent, Kero, with 0.59%, and Kibabo, with 0.27%.<\/p>\n

The biggest price reductions occurred in the Martal store network (2.76 percent), Alimenta Angola (1.40%) and Fresmart (1.21%).<\/p>\n
