Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The governor of the province of Bie\u0301, Pereira Alfredo, asked intermediate bodies this Monday, in Cuito, for greater attention to the Luando Integral Natural Reserve, as it is the sanctuary of the Giant Palanca Negra.<\/b><\/p>\n

The government official made this appeal, when speaking at the opening ceremony of the legality week of the Central Judiciary Region, which the city of Cuito hosted, under the motto \u201cThe Public Ministry and Environmental Protection, Challenges and Perspective\u201d.<\/p>\n

The Luando Reserve is located in the province of Malange and extends to the commune of Luando, in the municipality of Cuembo, province of Bie\u0301.<\/p>\n

It was initially created in 1935 as a Hunting Reserve.<\/p>\n

However, in 1955 it became an Integral Natural Reserve so that the Giant Sable Antelope species could be conserved and preserved.<\/p>\n

For Pereira Alfredo, the habitat of the Palanca Negra, a unique species in the world, must be protected and preserved by everyone, in order to allow the animal, symbol of the Nation, to develop and reproduce.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, the coordinator of the Central Region of the PGR, Carlos Manuel dos Santos, highlighted the need for public prosecutors to debate the protection and support of ecological balance, in the face of the current environmental revolution.<\/p>\n

\u201cAccording to article 39 of the Constitution of the Angolan Republic (CRA), on environmental rights, all citizens have the right to live in a healthy and unpolluted environment, as well as the duty to defend and preserve it\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n

Centro Judicial Region launches magazine<\/p>\n

The Deputy Attorney General of the Republic said that they will soon be placed in the respective regions and provinces where they were appointed, to carry out their duties.<\/p>\n
