Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Provincial Government of Benguela will launch, in the coming days, actions in the unoccupied spaces in the centralities of Lobito, Catumbela (Luhongo) and Bai\u0301a Farta, in order to reinforce the organization and prevent the growth of illegal constructions,this Wednesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

This situation arises following the extinction of the Infrastructure Land Management Company (EGTI) and the consequent transfer of powers to the provincial governments, which will from now on manage these lands.<\/p>\n

Speaking to Ra\u0301dio Mais, the deputy governor for the Technical and Infrastructure area, Adilson Gonc\u0327alves, explained that the measure aims to safeguard all the investment made by the State, in terms of infrastructure and urbanization.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe Provincial Government will work with the Municipal Administrations to restore order and restore some peace of mind to the people who live there\u201d, he informed.<\/p>\n

According to him, the land that was committed to EGTI is already being surveyed and the remaining areas are also being regularized.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe have plans to subdivide spaces in these centralities and their growth should follow this project. Everything that is illegal will disappear\u201d, stated the vice-governor,<\/p>\n

He gave the example of the Municipal Administration of Lobito, which has already started to do some work in this direction.<\/p>\n

He took the opportunity to warn that \u201canyone who wants some space within the complex of any of the centralities, which is still available, for residence or services, should contact the local Administration to acquire it\u201d.<\/p>\n

Asked about the transfer of land by chief officers or inspectors of the Administration, as justified by some \u201cprevaricators\u201d, Adilson Gonc\u0327alves was peremptory in stating that the only entities with the competence to do so are the administrators and the Governor.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe lands are subdivided into areas and with a certain limit, which corresponds to the level of these entities\u201d, he explained.<\/p>\n

Adilson Gonc\u0327alves recalled that, currently, people have easier processes to avoid falling into illegality, accessing a portal or website to collect the information they want about the legalization of spaces, so “they should follow this practice”.<\/p>\n

Of the three centralities in the province of Benguela, Lobito is the one with the most evidence of illegal construction in infrastructure spaces, including some already inhabited residences.<\/p>\n
