Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The quarterly political declarations, in an atmosphere of heightened spirits, marked the opening this Thursday of the V Extraordinary Plenary Meeting of the II Legislative Session of the V Legislature of the National Assembly.<\/b><\/p>\n

For the MPLA parliamentary bench, \u200bE\u0301rica de Carvalho Aires, reaffirmed her party’s commitment to the progress of Angola and the well-being of its citizens.<\/p>\n

He listed achievements such as the inaugurations of the central military and general hospitals in Viana, as well as the photovoltaic park in Lunda-Sul, among others.<\/p>\n

Contested by deputies from the UNITA bench, she asked for respect and high conduct, as well as criticizing her colleagues’ lack of civility.<\/p>\n

He reaffirmed commitments such as the elimination of inequalities, integrated development of the country, training of national staff, among others.<\/p>\n

The parliamentarian referred to the challenges of economic and social growth resulting from the drop in oil production and price stability.<\/p>\n

He declared that the new administrative division will not condition the implementation of local authorities.<\/p>\n

The MPLA Parliamentary Group reaffirmed its commitment to peace, institutional stability and respect for democracy, pillars of the Rule of Law.<\/p>\n

He said that it was with the party in power in Angola that the country achieved the political stability necessary to progress, despite attempts at disinformation.<\/p>\n

The president of the UNITA Parliamentary Group, Liberty Chiyaca, defended concrete measures to improve citizens’ living conditions, especially the eradication of hunger and the increase in jobs.<\/p>\n

He welcomed the external audit of public institutes, but argues that they should be extended to other public institutions, with emphasis on Sonangol and Endiama.<\/p>\n

He considered the proposed law on Combating Illegal Mining Activity approved to be “unfair and unpatriotic”<\/p>\n

Liberty Chiaca mentioned the advances in the production of legislative initiatives, particularly on local authorities, accusing the MPLA of “going in tow”<\/p>\n

He defended, among others, unity in diversity, participatory democracy, and respect for human rights.<\/p>\n

For the Angolan Humanist Party (PHA), Florbela Malaquias, challenged the act of violence against a UNITA parliamentary mission in \u200bCuando Cubango.<\/p>\n

He urged Public Television of Angola to avoid broadcasting content with violent images.<\/p>\n

He called for fairer public policies that effectively combat poverty and promote agriculture and common sense and dialogue.<\/p>\n

For him, 22 years of peace should be enough to improve the living conditions of citizens.<\/p>\n

He added that the best prevention against terrorism will be the promotion of fairer societies.<\/p>\n

Nimi ya Simbi, by the PRS\/FNLA mixed group, called for the fight against causes that encourage mining, urging the Executive to negotiate with union forces for the country’s economic and social stability.<\/p>\n
