Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Editions Paulines and Me\u0301diospaul inaugurated, on Tuesday, the 6th edition of the Book and Bible Festival (FELIBI), at the National Museum of the Democratic Republic of Congo, in the commune of Lingwala (north of Kinshasa), under the theme \u201cReading, key to integral development\u201d.On the sidelines of World Book and Copyright Day, celebrated every year on April 23rd, according to Father Patrick Nshole, general director of the festival, the intention of the Religious Congregation of the Missionary Society of Sa\u0303o Paulo “Me\u0301diaspaul \u201d and the Daughters of Sa\u0303o Paulo “E\u0301ditions Paulines\u201d have been organizing the festival since 2017 with the aim of promoting the culture of reading books.<\/b><\/p>\n

This activity, he says, aims to bring together editors, writers, broadcasters, as well as students to reflect on reading, at the same time as exhibitions, conferences, competitions and shows are organized to awaken a love of reading\u201d, he declared.<\/p>\n

The festival, he said, runs until tomorrow and aims to facilitate access to books and the Bible by selling them at a low price, since society urgently needs development, “and for this we must become people who are informed and They educate through reading books and especially the Bible, which is the Word of God\u201d.<\/p>\n

Father Patrick Nshole added that in his message on the occasion of World Book and Copyright Day, the director-general of UNESCO, Audrey Azoulay, states that “Books, in all their forms, truly allow us to educate us and inform us, but also to entertain us, to decipher the world while opening a window to otherness.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 6th edition of FELIBI hopes that many students, readers and visitors will discover more of the book’s secrets, because promoting reading is also contributing to the development of a nation.<\/p>\n

According to Sister Genevie\u0300ve Aliya, representative of Edic\u0327o\u0303es Paulinas, the country needs “passionate readers who discover secrets buried in books\u201d. She warned that reading is developing and books have an impact on the life of a society.<\/p>\n

The Book and Bible Festival is a good project that aims to encourage books and reading, said Sister Genevie\u0300ve Aliya.<\/p>\n

Alphonse Tshibindi, head of the New Horizons library, noted that currently, the book is gradually losing its place in relation to New Information and Communication Technologies (NTIC), book culture must necessarily be encouraged from top to bottom. “I came to participate in this program as a trainer in workshops with library managers and cultural facilitators. We will discuss with the public various themes surrounding the book\u201d, he concluded.<\/p>\n
