Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The general director of the Institute for Local Development (FAS), Belarmino Jelembi, considered, Friday, in Huambo, that proximity governance requires trust and transparency from the manager, for the reliable execution of public policies.<\/b><\/p>\n

The person in charge made this clarification when addressing the topic of \u201cProximity Governance of Inclusive and Participatory Local Governance\u201d, within the framework of the 1st National Workshop of Young Leaders in Local Governance, promoted by the Ministry of Territorial Administration, in partnership with the Njila project – World Bank.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he said that proximity governance must be built with a committed, disciplined and rigorous team in the implementation of public policies, following work methodologies that provide public trust, transparency and that allow interactivity with the population.<\/p>\n

He said it was necessary to awaken team spirit and combine social and economic projects, in a contextualized way, according to the reality found in the region, to achieve positive results.<\/p>\n

The representative of the international non-governmental organization Clube de Me\u0301dicos, Marcelo Elvis, suggested the need to work on increasing the number of Angolan doctors to bring hospital services closer to the population, without difficulty in providing specific assistance for any illness in the country.<\/p>\n

In turn, university professor Amaro Ricardo said that proximity governance requires knowledge of the context of the reality of communities and people so that it is possible to activate the mechanism of participation in public policies adopted for social and economic development.<\/p>\n

In his approach to the same subject, the deputy director general of the Technical Training Unit (UTFQ), Bangula Katumua, said that public managers should seek to create good impressions, so that local governance is more participatory and inclusive without regional asymmetries.<\/p>\n
