Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angolan culture was in evidence in Madrid, the Spanish capital, as part of the Spanish Language Day celebrations, from the 22nd to the 25th of this month.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release from the Angolan Embassy in Spain, the Angolan cultural menu was marked by the launch of four literary works by Angolan writers, including Ma\u0301rcio Batalha, with the book \u201cSaudades do ventre da minha Ma\u0303e\u201d, and Father Belchior Tchihopio, pseudonym Kandimble, with the works \u201cTrilhos N`Areia\u201d, \u201cPedido de Cordeiro & Corac\u0327a\u0303o de Lobo\u201d and \u201cA Brisa I\u0301ntima\u201d.<\/p>\n

The event was a joint organization between the Department of Romance, French, Italian and Translation Studies of the Faculty of Philology – Complutense and the Embassy of Angola.<\/p>\n

According to the minister advisor, Anto\u0301nio Cristo\u0301va\u0303o, who spoke on behalf of the Angolan ambassador to Spain, the excellent relationship between the Diplomatic Mission and the Complutense University was clear.<\/p>\n

Anto\u0301nio Cristo\u0301va\u0303o pointed out as one of the highlights of cultural activities the unveiling of the Plaque of the Bust of the Greatest Poet and First President of Angola, Anto\u0301nio Agostinho Neto, at the Mari\u0301a Zambrano Alarco\u0301n Library, at the Complutense University of Madrid.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, he appealed to Portuguese language students and Angolans living in Spain to take up writing, as it is one of the most effective ways of communicating.<\/p>\n

The press advisor, Marlene Gomes, stated that the international fair was a perfect opportunity, where the exchange of the different nationalities represented in the SEK el Castillo school community was celebrated.<\/p>\n

In turn, author of the book \u201cI Miss My Mother’s Belly\u201d, Ma\u0301rcio Batalha, took the opportunity to thank the Embassy of Angola and the Complutense University of Madrid for carrying out the activity with the students.<\/p>\n

“The books have content that I recommend to enrich the readers’ intellect and this launch shows the exchange between the two countries and continents”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

Ma\u0301rcio Batalha said that the inspiration for the book’s title is a tribute to his mother, as she is his greatest inspiration and that everyone should always seek to make a difference in order to be notable.<\/p>\n

Father Belchior Tchihopio, author of the literary works \u201cTrilhos N`Areia\u201d, \u201cO Pedido de Cordeiro & Corac\u0327a\u0303o de Lobo\u201d and \u201cA Brisa I\u0301ntima\u201d, said that the event was an activity full of splendor, in a mix of cultures.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe managed to take a trip to Angola without being in Angola through the lyrics and dreams projected in the verses and narrative\u201d, he said.<\/p>\n

Kandimble\u0301 noted that in his literary work \u201cGotas de Tears\u201d he explains the beginning of his work with writing in 2021.<\/p>\n

For Ba\u0301rbara Fraticelli, director of the Department of Romance Studies at the Faculty of Philology of the University of Madrid, she highlighted orality and oral tradition in African works and literature.<\/p>\n

Barbara Fraticelli considered the collaboration between the Angolan Embassy and the Complutense University of Madrid to be excellent. \u201cThanks to this collaboration, it was possible to prepare and celebrate the event dedicated to Angola within the scope of the Faculty of Philology’s Letters Week, with the presentation of four books by two young Angolan poets and a scholarship in the company of teachers and students\u201d, he asserted.<\/p>\n

The event served to encourage meetings between Portuguese students and the Spanish public, promoting intercultural understanding, inclusion and mutual respect, with the aim of bringing the cultures of the two countries closer together.<\/p>\n

It was attended by diplomatic and academic authorities, teachers of Portuguese and African Language and Literature and a representation of Portuguese studies students.<\/p>\n
