Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Angolan diplomat Jose\u0301 Patri\u0301cio presented, this Monday, to the President of the Republic of Iraq, Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid, the letters that accredit him as ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of Angola in this country, residing in Ankara (Turkey).<\/b><\/p>\n

At the hearing, at the Presidential Palace in Baghdad, President Abdul Latif Jamal Rashid expressed his desire to strengthen ties of friendship and cooperation with Angola in the most varied areas, highlighting the need to establish legal mechanisms for their rapid implementation.<\/p>\n

Iraq intends, soon, to appoint a non-resident ambassador, initially, and then resident in Luanda as a sign of the Middle Eastern country’s interest in strengthening bilateral relations with Angola.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Ambassador Jose\u0301 Patri\u0301cio thanked the welcome and took the opportunity to highlight that Angola, as a sign of confidence and determination, is already investing in Iraq through Sonangol P&P, in the exploration and production of two oil fields in the onshore northeast region. from Mosul.<\/p>\n

In the presentation of the figurative letters on Sunday (28), to the deputy minister of Foreign Affairs of this country, Omar Al-Barzanji, the two interlocutors identified common points for the relaunch of the diplomatic agenda, namely the reciprocal opening of embassies in the two capitals, the constitution of the joint committee on bilateral economic cooperation, among others.<\/p>\n

In addition to Iraq, Jose\u0301 Patri\u0301cio is also a resident ambassador in Turkey and a non-resident ambassador in the republics of Georgia and the Islamic Republic of Iran, as part of the Angolan diplomacy strategy of regional coverage.<\/p>\n

Iraq is a country located in the Mesopotamia region with a population of 45 million inhabitants, mostly Muslims, with an ancient history and culture dating back to the ancient Babylonian Empire.<\/p>\n
