Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, attended the opening ceremony of the 13th edition of the International Jazz Festival in Luanda on Tuesday.<\/b><\/p>\n

The session took place in the Luanda bay tent, where the Vice-President received greetings from the Minister of Culture, Filipe Zau, the provincial governor, Manuel Homem, the administrator of the municipality of Luanda, Milca Caquesse, and the UNESCO Regional Director for Central Africa, Paul Coustere\u0301.<\/p>\n

Before the start of the show, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa visited the plastic arts exhibition “dawn in the world” and spoke with the art creators.<\/p>\n

The International Jazz Day Festival is organized by the ResiliArt Angola Project and is the result of a partnership between UNESCO, American Schools of Angola (ASA) and the Government of Angola, through the Luanda Biennial \u2013 Pan-African Forum for Culture of Peace and Non-Violence.<\/p>\n

This year, Jazz is celebrated under the motto \u201cDawn in the World: Together for Inclusive Growth, Educating through Art\u201d.<\/p>\n

The event, which ends on Wednesday, has the participation of 40 artists, both national and foreign, and is part of the festivities of Jazz Day, celebrated worldwide on April 30th.<\/p>\n

Its purpose is to promote a culture of peace, it helps to inspire current and future generations through messages of peace, hope and social progress, to be transmitted by artists in their performances.<\/p>\n

Recently, the organization confirmed the participation of artists from the United States of America, France, Israel, Portugal, Italy, Brazil, Gambia, Russia, Mozambique and Turkey.<\/p>\n

From Angola, he spoke about the band Sanguito Sax, with emphasis on the saxophonist Sanguito, the artists Anto\u0301nio Andrade, A\u0301lvaro Yeca, Alberto Mona, Sozinho Lopes, Frederico Binda, Saloma\u0303o Edva\u0302nia da Costa, Pedro Masisa, Kindala and Sacananu Patri\u0301cio.<\/p>\n
