Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Vice-President of the Republic, Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, was the standout individual at the debut of the African Swimming Championship, which took place at Piscina do Alvalade, in Luanda.<\/b><\/p>\n

Esperanc\u0327a da Costa opened this 16th edition of the African competition on behalf of the Angolan Head of State, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

In the \u201cVIP\u201d tribune of the sport’s largest complex, in Angola, she was flanked by several Government entities and the president of the African Swimming Confederation (CANA), Sam Ramsamy.<\/p>\n

In his opening statement for the event to be held for the first time in the country, he called for the commitment of athletes in general and the observance of the principle of \u201cfair play\u201d.<\/p>\n

He said that the fact that Angola hosts the competition reflects the State’s commitment to the development of sport and the strengthening of ties with African nations.<\/p>\n

In relation to national athletes, he highlighted that the nation is proud of them all, having congratulated the President of the Republic, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

He said it was time for the national team’s athletes to show their worth and represent Angola with determination and determination.<\/p>\n

The Vice-President took advantage of the occasion to encourage national athletes to do their best, considering that their presence in this event, in itself, \u201cis a great moment, which must represent a victory\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis is the time to demonstrate your best and represent Angola with determination and determination. May every stroke, every turn and every arrival at the finish line be a testament to your talent and dedication\u201d, she highlighted,<\/p>\n

For Esperanc\u0327a da Costa, sport requires dedication, commitment and discipline, and swimming is, \u201cin truth\u201d, a sport that requires a lot of discipline, as well as technique and determination.<\/p>\n

He thanked the African Swimming Confederation for entrusting Angola with the organization of this continental event, whose size of the number of events and participating countries and athletes \u201creflects the diversity and richness of Africa\u201d.<\/p>\n

42 countries and a total of 228 swimmers are participating in this 16th African swimming event.<\/p>\n
