{"id":61776,"date":"2024-05-03T07:42:44","date_gmt":"2024-05-03T07:42:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/taag-signs-agreement-for-engine-management-and-maintenance"},"modified":"2024-05-03T08:25:59","modified_gmt":"2024-05-03T08:25:59","slug":"taag-signs-agreement-for-engine-management-and-maintenance","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.africa-press.net\/angola\/all-news\/taag-signs-agreement-for-engine-management-and-maintenance","title":{"rendered":"TAAG signs agreement for engine management and maintenance"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span style=\"color: #ff6600\"><strong>Africa-Press &#8211; Angola. <\/strong><\/span><b>TAAG Linhas Ae\u0301reas de Angola and RTX Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada have signed an engine maintenance agreement, valid for six years, the Angolan carrier reports this Thursday.<\/b><\/p>\n<p>The agreement is for 13 PW150A engines and another spare kept in inventory, according to a note from the national carrier arrived.<\/p>\n<p>It consists of a Fleet Management Program (FMPTM) that allows Pratt and Whitney to customize its offering to meet TAAG&#8217;s specific operational context.<\/p>\n<p>Quoted in the note, the president of the TAAG Executive Committee, Nelson de Oliveira, considered Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada&#8217;s FMP program functional for TAAG, having expressed confidence in the proven experience of the engine manufacturer\/OEM to guarantee maximum productivity and efficiency of the Angolan carrier&#8217;s PW150A engines.<\/p>\n<p>He noted that the Dash 8-400 aircraft, equipped with the PW150A engine, perfectly suits the needs, having a capacity of around 75 passengers, high fuel efficiency and general reliability.<\/p>\n<p>For her part, Irene Makris, vice-president of sales and marketing at Pratt &amp; Whitney Canada, stated that TAAG is an airline that plays a key role nationally and internationally, serving Angola and beyond.<\/p>\n<p>In his opinion, \u201cairlines that provide regional connectivity, such as TAAG, play a vital role in facilitating passenger mobility to large urban centers and international destinations\u201d.<\/p>\n<p>The FMP package acquired by TAAG includes Pratt &amp; Whitney&#8217;s fuel analysis technology, the FASTTM diagnostic and prognostic solution that wirelessly records, analyzes and sends all flight data intelligence immediately after turning off the motor.<\/p>\n<p>The PW100\/PW150 engines power 90% of regional turboprop aircraft with 30 to 90 passengers operating today.
