Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The process of re-registration and proof of life of former combatants and veterans of the country, carried out from August 2019 to May 2023, throughout the national territory has, among other purposes, to improve the living conditions of this fringe of society.<\/b><\/p>\n

The statement was made this Wednesday, to the press, in Mbanza Kongo, Zaire province, by the Secretary of State for Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Domingos Andre\u0301 Tchikanha, at the end of a consultation meeting with the class.<\/p>\n

According to Tchikanha, the Executive remains committed to improving the living conditions of all those who sacrificed their lives for the benefit of the Angolan nation.<\/p>\n

He recalled that the re-registration and proof of life process aimed to determine the exact number of “truly assisted”, so that the Executive continues to outline actions leading to the improvement of their living conditions.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo one can distribute without knowing who they are going to deliver it to\u201d, highlighted the secretary, adding that, once the re-registration and proof of life phase has been completed, the Former Combatants and Veterans of the Country sector is in a position to respond to the concerns of those assisted.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe already have an indicative number of true former combatants. The next phase will be to respond to some of the class\u2019s concerns, especially those related to housing, the increase in the merit pension, education for children and support for agricultural cooperatives\u201d, he emphasized.<\/p>\n

More than 95 thousand pensioners excluded<\/p>\n

Ninety-five thousand 904 pensioners of various categories were excluded from the National Public Finance Payment System, throughout the national territory, during the re-registration and proof of life process.<\/p>\n

According to the national director of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland, Casimiro Jose\u0301 Maria, 66 thousand and 396 pensioners were re-registered during the process, out of the 162 thousand and 300 previously registered by the Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland sector throughout the country. country.<\/p>\n

The director explained that 95,000 and 904 pensioners were not present in the re-registration and proof of life process throughout the country, for unknown reasons\u201d.<\/p>\n

He added that 3,690 pensioners were re-registered, out of the 5,526 assisted, who were previously included in the database for this sector at regional level.<\/p>\n

\u201cA total of 1,836 members did not present themselves in the re-registration and proof of life process here in the province of Zaire, for reasons that are also unknown\u201d, he stressed.<\/p>\n

He added that of the three thousand and 690 beneficiaries re-registered in Zaire, three thousand and 526 pensioners were admitted and incorporated into the Integrated Public Financial Management System.<\/p>\n

He informed that the Provincial Office of Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland sent 210 complaint files to the National Directorate, with the ministries of Finance and National Defense and Former Combatants and Veterans of the Fatherland working to identify the true pensioners.<\/p>\n

He explained that many pensioners were excluded from the system because they were born after 1959, while some disabled people were excluded for not updating their medical expertise.<\/p>\n

\u201cIn relation to widows, they were excluded because they are only entitled to a lifetime pension, those of legal age, that is, 51 years of age or older. Those under 51 have already benefited from the pension of their deceased partners, granted for one year\u201d, explained the director.<\/p>\n

The meeting was attended by the vice-governor of Zaire for the political, social and economic sector, Afonso Nzolameso, representing the provincial governor, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho.<\/p>\n

The event took place in the auditorium of the second Provincial Government building and brought together dozens of former combatants and veterans of the country.<\/p>\n
