Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>One hundred cases of domestic violence were registered in the province of Bie\u0301, from January to April of the current year, 20 more cases compared to the previous period, reported, this Friday, the head of the Department of Family and Gender Equality, Ana Cassova Chinene.<\/b><\/p>\n

The person responsible was speaking at the event that marked the opening of the day alluding to Family Day, which takes place on the 15th of the current month, under the motto \u201cInvesting in the Family and in Achieving the Targets of the Sustainable Development Objectives\u201d.<\/p>\n

Ana Cassova Chinene said that, of the registered cases, physical, verbal, property, psychological and sexual violence, family abandonment, as well as sexual abuse of minors stand out.<\/p>\n

He said that, this year, the day will reflect on the problems that affect families and collect information on the realignment of public policies, aiming at harmony and family cohesion.<\/p>\n

Promoting moral, civic, ethical, cultural and patriotic recovery, reflecting on sustainable development, balancing economic growth, with the preservation of the environment and quality of life for families, are among other objectives that guide the journey.<\/p>\n

The head of department asked for women’s support to reinforce the dialogue, aiming to strengthen the structure of families, especially by educating children with values \u200b\u200bthat help them have a healthy conduct in adulthood.<\/p>\n

She also urged women to redouble their efforts to develop actions that aim to help raise awareness among citizens about the negative effects that domestic violence causes in communities.<\/p>\n
