Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Zambian minister of Industry and Trade, Chipoka Mulenga, has been in Luanda since early yesterday afternoon to sign, with his Angolan counterpart, Victor Fernandes, the \u201cGeneral Trade Agreement\u201d between the two countries.<\/b><\/p>\n

Upon his arrival, the Zambian official said that Angola and Zambia need to translate, in practice, the vast business opportunities resulting from the geographical and cultural proximity between the two peoples.<\/p>\n

The ministers of Commerce of Angola and Zambia, on behalf of their respective governments, will sign tomorrow the “General Trade Agreement”, with the aim of encouraging business between businessmen from the two countries.<\/p>\n

Two days ago, technicians specialized in this matter discussed, in Luanda, the culminating aspects of the aforementioned agreement. Adelino Naquarta, director of International Exchange at the Angolan Ministry of Industry and Commerce, said, on the sidelines of the negotiations, that the details relate to questions of linguistic interpretation, namely, the sixth article of the aforementioned document.<\/p>\n

Despite their geographical proximity, Angola and Zambia register a low density in the volume of their trade. Data for 2017 indicate amounts not exceeding 20 million dollars per year, basically supported by the sale of petroleum products, salt, construction materials, fertilizers and seeds.<\/p>\n
