Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The American aerospace multinational Boeing expressed, this Monday, in Dallas (Texas), its interest in a strategic partnership with Angola to support the country in improving its aviation ecosystem.<\/b><\/p>\n

Boeing’s interest was expressed by its president for Latin America, the Caribbean and Global Affairs, Landon Loomis, at the end of an audience granted to him by the Angolan head of state, Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o.<\/p>\n

According to the executive, who spoke to the press after leaving the audience, the multinational intends to support Angola, specifically, in matters of staff maintenance and training.<\/p>\n

The meeting, he said, served to discuss with President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o the Angolan Government’s vision and strategy of diversifying the economy, especially the investments planned for the aviation sector.<\/p>\n

He stressed that Boeing recognizes Angola’s great potential to grow in this economic segment, having highlighted that it intends to be a strong partner in supporting the country’s strategy in the development of the aviation system.<\/p>\n

“We talk about the possibility of establishing partnerships and investment in areas such as training, maintenance and support for the aviation ecosystem”, highlighted the executive of the North American multinational company.<\/p>\n

Boeing is a multinational dedicated to the design, manufacture and sale of airplanes, helicopters, rockets, satellites and missiles around the world, in addition to being an active provider of leasing services.<\/p>\n

Available data indicates that the company is among the largest global aerospace manufacturers, being the fourth largest defense contractor in the world, based on its revenues achieved in 2022.<\/p>\n

Considered the largest US exporter in dollar value, the company recorded, in the first quarter of 2024, revenues of $16.6 billion, with operating cash flow of ($3.4) billion and free cash flow of ($3.9) billion (non-GAAP).<\/p>\n

In the same period, the company’s total backlog grew to US$529 billion, including more than 5,600 commercial aircraft.<\/p>\n

President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o is in Dallas to participate in the 16th US-Africa Business Summit, which will bring together, for four days, several business executives and dozens of heads of State and Government.<\/p>\n
