Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The Angolan Government signed this Tuesday, in Dallas, state of Texas, three investment agreements, in the fields of renewable energy, public works and telecommunications.<\/b><\/p>\n

The first, valued at US$872.24 million, is intended for the construction of two solar energy plants, and was signed by the Minister of Finance, Vera Daves, the president of Eximkbank, Rita Jo Lewis, and the head of ING Capital Bank, Gemma Bae.<\/p>\n

The second agreement refers to the construction of 186 metal bridges, which encompasses a project valued at US$427.92 million, and was signed by the Angolan government, by Rita Jo Lewis, by Eximbank, and Bayo Omole, by Chartered Bank.<\/p>\n

The third has to do with the expansion of the signal of Ra\u0301dio Nacional de Angola and is budgeted at 45.18 million dollars, and subscribers were Jurgen Ziegler and Ina\u0301cio Ramiro, through Deutche Bank, and minister Vera Daves.<\/p>\n

The three agreements were signed on the sidelines of the 16th US-Africa Business Summit, which takes place in the city of Dallas until Thursday, with the participation of more than 1,500 guests, including Heads of State and Government and executives from the business world. the United States and Africa.<\/p>\n

Minister wants telecommunications industry in Angola<\/p>\n

The Minister of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication, Ma\u0301rio Oliveira, defended this Tuesday, in Dallas, Texas, the attraction of more private investment for the creation of a telecommunications industry in Angola.<\/p>\n

Speaking to the press, on the sidelines of the<\/p>\n

US-Africa Business Summit, the government official said that the creation of this industry would facilitate the assembly and manufacturing of electronic equipment, such as<\/p>\n

routers, computers, smartphones, cables and towers.<\/p>\n

“Today, we have very great potential for service companies, but we have to understand that the time has come to move towards the<\/p>\n

telecommunications industry”, he highlighted.<\/p>\n

According to Ma\u0301rio Oliveira, Angola could lead the region in terms of the telecommunications industry, having highlighted that Africa has the raw materials and creative youth to make this dream come true.<\/p>\n

He considered it time for large manufacturers to set up this industry in Angola to encourage young people to research, which could start with the assembly and production of electronic components.<\/p>\n

The US-Africa Business Summit is an initiative that aims to discuss effective solutions to boost sustainable commercial partnerships between the US and the African continent, which is increasingly strategic and a priority in North American foreign policy.<\/p>\n

The main objective of the meeting is to enable African leaders to directly contact<\/p>\n

decision-makers from Governments and the private sector, in order to promote sustainable business partnerships<\/p>\n

between the US and Africans.<\/p>\n

The summit has on the table topics of capital importance for strengthening mutually advantageous business partnerships, with particular emphasis on the agribusiness sector.<\/p>\n
