Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>Vendors at the Omunogue and Maria do Ce\u0301u markets, in the village of Xangongo, municipal seat of Ombadja, Cunene province, have had, since Friday, a new informal market with a capacity of 1,471 stalls.<\/b><\/p>\n

In the opening ceremony, the head of the session of the Infrastructure, Spatial Planning and Housing department, Manuel Praia, announced that the market, valued at 10 million kwanzas, was built within the framework of the Local Development and Combating Poverty, to reorganize informal commerce in the district.<\/p>\n

Built in the Olupale area, the new market, built on a perimeter of 78 thousand and 328 square meters, comprises two blocks, the first consisting of an administrative area, administrator’s office, storage room and changing rooms.<\/p>\n

The second is made up of the sales area.<\/p>\n

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Ombadja municipal administrator, Eliseth Mwamelunge, said the intention was to remove traders from the Omunogue and Maria do Ce\u0301u markets who were complaining about the low number of sales due to their geographical location and distance.<\/p>\n

In response, a new market was created to facilitate the business of sellers and the purchase of different items by customers and travelers traveling along national road 105.<\/p>\n

The municipality of Ombadja, 98 kilometers from the city of Ondjiva, is divided by the municipalities of Xangongo (headquarters), Humbe, Naulila, Mucope and Ombala yo Mungo, with a population of 394 thousand and 964 inhabitants.<\/p>\n
