Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The ambassador of Angola to Italy and permanent representative at the United Nations Agencies in Rome, Fa\u0301tima Jardim, defended this Monday, joint actions for the creation of integrated programs aimed at combating drought, desertification, endemic diseases and vulnerability.<\/b><\/p>\n

According to a press release, the diplomat made these statements during a working meeting, in the Italian capital, with the executive director of the World Food Program (WFP), Cindy McCain.<\/p>\n

\u200bAt the meeting, the interlocutors addressed, among other issues, issues such as technical support to reinforce the school lunch program, assistance with livestock vaccination, sanitary and health programs with emphasis on the fight against HIV\/AIDS and malaria.<\/p>\n

On the occasion, Fa\u0301tima Jardim reiterated that Angola has been a consistent partner in the SADC region, especially in preventing conflict crises and climate emergencies such as the \u201cEl Nino\u201d phenomenon, affecting economic policies as well as food prices. imported goods, namely cereals and fertilizers.<\/p>\n

The Angolan Executive, he said, requests continued aid in the central region of the African continent, especially in the DRC, within the framework of humanitarian assistance, to support the action promoted by President Joa\u0303o Lourenc\u0327o, as a champion of peace and reconciliation in the Union African.<\/p>\n

Fa\u0301tima Jardim took the opportunity to invite the executive director of PAM to visit Angola at the end of 2024 and get to know its potential up close and promote the exchange of information on areas considered fundamental for fostering partnerships.<\/p>\n

At the end, Cindy McCain praised the Angolan diplomat’s proposals and contributions, adding that Angola is one of the countries that can benefit from financing and technical support for high-impact food and nutritional program projects.<\/p>\n
