Africa-Press – Angola. <\/strong><\/span>The stabilization of the slope of Morro do Tchizo will contribute to definitively resolving the problem of flooding in the city of Cabinda and peripheral neighborhoods, said the provincial governor, Mara Quiosa, Thursday.<\/b><\/p>\n

Speaking to the press at the end of a visit to verify the slope stabilization works, Mara Quiosa assured that the financial conditions are in place to complete this infrastructure in the coming days.<\/p>\n

He explained that the Tchizo hill, as it is one of the highest points in the province, projects all the rainwater into the lower part of the city and outlying neighborhoods, dragging sand, waste, among other objects, which obstruct the technical network and cause flooding.<\/p>\n

He reported that the flooding of the airport runway, roadways, peripheral areas and the collapse of Morro do Tchizo caused the silting of the Lucola River, the main source of water collection from the distribution network.<\/p>\n

Work was halted for five years. The project, carried out by the Chinese company GHCB Angola, SA, involves the construction of rainwater drainage systems from the Tchizo neighborhood, passing through 1o de Maio to the coastal area of \u200b\u200bLuvassa.<\/p>\n

It also includes the construction of the public lighting network, sidewalks, among other technical services.<\/p>\n
